Jet-Lag Free!!! (Part 2)

The second part of our day began when our director picked us up from the hotel, and to my delight, it began to snow. He began to drive us through Danyang and said he needed to change tires for his safety and ours, (because of the snow it was the first of the year). So we dropped the car off at the garage and Director Lee invited us back to his home, which was a few blocks away. There he introduced us to his wife and she brought us warm coffee. His wife was the sweetest person we met yet, more on this later. But slowly Director Lee began to warm up and ask us questions, because his English was a little rough, but he tried hard so it wasn't all that bad. Amy was winning him over, and I was kind of jealous, she is really a charmer. One funny thing about Korea is that if you say you like something it appears that your host will try to get it for you. Example, Director Lee also has a small potato field and he showed us the boxes he used for potatoes. I said I love potatoes, and soon we had a box of sweet potatoes. Also, Amy asked about Kim Chee, and so his wife whipped us up a batch of it and wrapped it up with our sweet potatoes. But this was only the beginning, soon we were on our way to the market, and on the way we saw breathtaking scenery, and Director Lee pulled over so we could get better pictures.



The snow only got better, and soon the trees were covered in it, I took a picture, because I cannot describe how beautiful it was.

I guess this is international travel for you, one day in the dumps the other loving life, and perhaps divine providence in the midst of our needs. But getting back to the story, we than drove to E-mart which was an adventure in itself. Imagine Wal-mart and Costco joining forces with escalators that can move carts up and down a three story market. Yes I did just say move carts, I think it was magnets, but it was like the airport and the moving walkway, only at an angle and with carts. This place had everything and I mean everything. Bread, even doughnuts, cheese, Coca-Cola, everything that Korea wasn't suppose to have this place did, it was insane. And Director Lee led us on a shopping spree buying us groceries, shampoo, a comforter (which is pink, oh well), bathroom slippers, a new shower, our power converter, and more. We were blown away by his generosity just so kind. Also, Director Lee loved to tell jokes, and he laughs so much, even at sarcasm. For lunch I even tried Kim Chee, actually octopus Kim Chee, not bad actually but it burned my lips and mouth like fire. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow so everyone can appreciate this delicacy. But by the end of the day his wife and him felt like family. His wife walked us through what to get at E-mart from soy sauce, to rice, to a comforter, and all with a laugh and a smile. These people are so kind its just unreal, and theres more. Once we drove past the school and arrived at our apartment Director Lee and me lifted everything up while the girls started cleaning. And the stayed for two hours helping us clean, and Director Lee even got us some potato pizza, and wrote notes on how to order it next time. I can say that I went from feeling so down and out of it, to so refreshed and feeling like this was exactly what we needed. Sure everything smells, our apartment has no dryer, our apartment building turns on lights only as you go by making it extra creepy in the dark (I will share this video with you soon), but at the heart of it we have a beautiful city apartment with gorgeous mountain views, a boss who is a dear friend, and a God who gives us strength when our hearts grow weak. What a day, my jet lag is fading and I can't wait to see whats next. I'll leave you with some apartment pictures, just know this zone is under construction we'll show you the finished product soon.
This is our shower, and yes it is scary and no I don't know how to use it. And it is disgusting and thats why our new one is coming tomorrow.
